ORGANISERS

The organisation of the Ist Costa Brava Xtrem Running race arose from the enthusiasm and desire of the members of the Tahoo Team.

With this sporting, social and cultural event, the Tahoo Team is intending to bring sport together with a spectacular place in order to publicise the attractions of the Costa Brava in its Centenary year. To do this, it has the support of the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona. The 22 coastal municipalities of Girona and many private companies in the division are cooperating with the project and offering it their support.

The organisers want to promote the destination through a race, bringing together all kinds of people around a competition that is unique in the world: a mountain race run beside water.

As we complete one hundred years of the Costa Brava name, no-one is now in any doubt that the coastline of the counties of Girona is a captivating place, full of charm. A century after the birth of the name Costa Brava, the Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona is joining in with the organisation and sponsorship of Costa Brava Xtrem Running in order to publicise and raise the profile of the destination in Catalonia, in Spain and abroad from a sporting point of view.

Costa Brava Xtrem Running is intended to offer each participant an unrepeatable experience. It invites them to participate in an exciting sport combined with a spirit of improvement and sacrifice which, for several days, will allow them to feel totally free.

The organisers were motivated above all by the idea that these days should be something more than a race, becoming an unforgettable memory shared with friends and family in the special surroundings of the Costa Brava.
