XTREM ROUTE
The Xtrem Itinerary of Costa Brava Xtrem Running covers a total of 200 km divided up into 3 stages. The race starts in Blanes and ends in Portbou. The first stage (day 23) starts in Blanes and ends in Tossa de Mar. The race starts at 3:00pm and participants must arrive at the starting line two hours before so that each competitor can perform a mandatory material check. The course is 20 km long and must be completed in a maximum of 5 hours. The second stage (day 24) starts in Tossa de Mar and ends in L'Escala. The course is 100 km long and must be completed in a maximum of 15 hours. The third stage (day 25) starts in L'Escala and ends in Portbou. The course is 80 km long and must be completed in a maximum of 12 hours.
The course practically follows the GR92 except for in some parts where we have altered the course to make it a more scenic route. We will pass by natural parks and get around rivers, coves, ruins, charming towns…

ENTRY AND BENEFITS
Price: 300€
What does it include:
• Two nights in 3-star hotels beside the sea, with the corresponding dinners both nights.
- The rooms will be double ones, with toilet and shower.
- The DINNER will consist of salad, a pasta buffet and drinks.
- Corresponding breakfast or picnic.
• Feeding stations, where there will be sweet and savoury food and water. Also energy bars and first aid products (aspirins, gauze, iodine, anti-inflammatories and creams).
• Transport during the three days of the race, and return from Portbou to Blanes.
• Doctor and physio service throughout the race.
• Costa Brava Xtrem Running rucksack, including various sponsors’ products for all participants.
• Costa Brava Xtrem Running medal and diploma for those finishing in one of the two disciplines.
The check points or feeding and drinking stations will be located more or less every 15km throughout the race. Numbers will be checked at each of these points by two or three volunteers. We will include physiotherapists and doctors in the long stages.
For the first time in history, a race in its first year like Costa Brava Xtrem Running, will score points and will be included on the list of qualifying races for the Mont Blanc Ultra Trail, the biggest race in the world in this sector, due to the incredible route and fantastic surroundings.
COMPULSORY EQUIPMENT
- Rucksack
- Jerry cans to carry liquids (for environmental reasons, we will not give out bottles)
- Glass to drink (the organization is not going to have glasses in the check points. ECOrace)
- Forehead light
- Thermal blanket
- Safety whistle
- Elastic bandage for injuries
- Mobile phone
- A 20-euro note (for emergencies)
- Equipment suitable for a mountain race
- Food providing 500 calories a day
The equipment will be checked by the organisers before and during the race.
If a runner does not have any piece of compulsory equipment available, he or she may be instantly and definitively disqualified.
FAMILY OPTION
Adult price: 180€
Children aged under 3 go free
Children aged between 4 and 9: 40 €
Children aged between 10 and 14: 60 €
The price includes:
- Coach transfer for each stage.
- 2 nights in a 3-star hotel, one at each arrival point.
- Shared room with the competitor or family member.
- Breakfast and supper at each selected hotel.
